Arsenal's record signing Mesut Ozil has thanked fans for their supportive messages in light of his injury.
The German international is expected to be out for 10-12 weeks with a knee injury, the German Football Federation confirmed yesterday.
The World Cup winner spoke out Twitter, to let supporters know he had received their well-wishes.
thank you all for your support and your get well soon messages!— Mesut Özil (@MesutOzil1088) October 9, 2014
It has been far from a vintage start to the campaign from Ozil, missing pre-season and having to play catch-up with his fitness.
This led to a couple of early below par displays, and just when he appeared to be on his way back to form, he disappointed against Chelsea, leading to another barrage of criticism.
2014 has certainly been mixed from a personal level for him, but he ends with with an FA Cup medal and a World Cup winners medal, so it has not been all bad, but the German will want to show a stark improvement in 2015.
