United morning news: Luke Shaw ‘row’ resolved; Alves’s agent comments

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

England manager Roy Hodgson has reportedly cleared the air with Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal following previous comments made about Luke Shaw.

It had been claimed that the United boss was not happy with comments from Hodgson regarding Shaw’s alleged lack of fitness during the World Cup. But the Telegraph reports that the Three Lions boss has called the Dutchman to smooth things over, with both men said to have apologised.

Shaw has finally overcome his injuries to begin to play regularly for United as they continue their climb up the table.

In other news, the Daily Star has published comments from Dani Alves’s agent claiming the reported United target wants to remain at Barcelona.

The Brazilian defender had been linked with a move to Old Trafford next summer to replace Rafael, but in an interview with Catalunya Radio, Alves’s representative and ex-wife said, “We would like to stay here, mainly because our children are here. No one has told us they want him to go.”
