Tottenham Hotspur fans react to Adebayor exit rumours - 'I'll drive him to QPR!'

Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor has been linked with a move to London rivals QPR.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor was linked with a move this morning to go and play under former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp at QPR.

Adebayor has struggled for consistency under Mauricio Pochettino this season after impressing under Tim Sherwood, who drafted the forward back into the Tottenham starting line-up.

It’s a bit unclear at the moment how any move for the player would take place because Tottenham only have three frontline strikers; Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane.

For Adebayor to be allowed to leave, a replacement would seemingly have to come into the side.

There are no concrete links suggesting Tottenham are close or in talks with the representatives of any player but Pochettino is not naïve enough to leave himself with only two strikers during one of the busiest parts of the season.

A move to QPR could be good for Adebayor because the pressure would be slightly less than what he experiences on a weekly basis with Spurs.

Redknapp is a manager he has previous experience of working with and someone who could get the best out of him as QPR look to consolidate as a Premier League team.

If Adebayor isn’t interested in any move away from White Hart Lane then he simply has to work hard over the rest of the season to ensure that he remains integral to Pochettino’s attacking plans.

He does offer the Spurs frontline something different in the respect that he’s a big and imposing striker who can bully a defence and create space for players flooding forward from Tottenham’s midfield.

If he can start having the same sort of impact that he had under Sherwood last season, not only will he win over critics, he’ll leave Pochettino with no need to go and replace him in the middle of an important season.

Here’s what Tottenham fans have made of the rumours on Twitter.
