Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye recently admitted his frustrations (click here to read more).
Speaking to L'Equipe, the France international said: 'I will not change my style of play now. Besides, I do not want to. I have, in fact, been careful not to be forced, by circumstances, to change it.
‘There is a risk that I would come to outwit and not attempt to cross or a pass that will cut the lines. It is possible... But lately, I try not to ask myself questions’.
Of course, Cabaye has his reasons for not willing to play the way PSG coach Laurent Blanc wants him to, and he does have a point.
But the 28-year-old’s remarks do highlight just how lucky Manchester United are to have Angel di Maria in their squad.
Reason? Di Maria will not complain if he is asked to change his style.
Di Maria had to reinvent himself at Real Madrid last season, and he did. He did so with success too, as the 26-year-old was one of the three best and most important players in Carlo Ancelotti’s team – and better than Gareth Bale.
A versatile player who can play as a winger and as an attacking midfielder, the Argentina international works hard for the team and is always willing to help out in defence.
Players like Di Maria are rare, and Cabaye’s comments just underline that.
