The Mirror claims Juventus could be prepared to sell long term Manchester United transfer target because of his reckless behaviour.
Vidal was recently dropped and fined by the Serie A champions after a night out where he broke a curfew and the national daily suggests that Juventus have had enough.
“Manchester United target Arturo Vidal could be heading for the Juventus exit after staying out until 5am,” reports the Mirror.
“Juventus could change their mind (on ignoring previous offers) and decide to cash on the £35million-rated Vidal because of his reckless behaviour.”
Louis van Gaal is well known to admire Vidal with the Chilean thought to have been one of United’s primary transfer targets during the summer transfer window.
His fitness, all round game and work rate make him ideally suited to the way LvG likes his midfields to play football and he’s also versatile.
That versatility means that he can play in a 3-5-2 system, which United started the season with and also the current more traditional midfield which Manchester United are using.
However, it’s still a very big if for this deal to take place because he remains one of Juventus’ vital assets.
What van Gaal has to battle against if he’s keen to do a deal this winter is the size of the deal and the reckless behaviour which the Mirror implies is obviously a problem.
The cost of the deal is an issue because reports have suggested that any transfer for Roma’s Kevin Strootman won’t be cheap. That means two potential midfield deals where the finances of the club are once again fully tested.
The behaviour aspect and any side to Vidal’s character which needs to be managed is an issue that van Gaal has experienced before and something that United fans can be confident he’ll get on top of should the Chilean become their player either this winter or next summer.
