On the 8th October 2013 what were the stories that dominated the football landscape? Including Arsenal and Manchester United.

Let's cast our eyes back to this exact day, the 8th October 2014, but a year earlier.

What were the main tales from that day? What big events were happening in Premier League football?

Here are some of the big scoops from the 8th October 2013…

Puma kit leak

This time last year there was much speculation over the future of Arsenal's ... kit. It was now known they would be signing a deal with Puma to take over from long term partners Nike.

But a year ago today the new kit was accidentally unveiled by ... Linford Christie.

The Olympic 100m sprinter was at a Puma event with Arsenal stars such as former striker Thierry Henry and current front-man Olivier Giroud.

And he posted a picture of Henry in a top which looked like it might just be the future Arsenal kit.

Which we now know, it actually was the first image of the upcoming kit for the next season.

Pogba wanted

Patrice Evra was discussing a player he felt should never have left Manchester United. Evra stated that United should never have let Paul Pogba depart Old Trafford.

He stated:

"His talent on the pitch, his aggression, his presence, is very rare. He very quickly earned the respect of players like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. It’s true that have you have to win over the manager too, but to have won the dressing room like he did. It was truly a huge loss when he left the club."

Interestingly Pogba and Evra are now team-mates at Juventus.
