Italian international defender Ignazio Abate has made a bright start to the season, which has reportedly put him back on Liverpool's radar.
Milan and Liverpool are expected to do business in January with the Italians looking to lure Spaniard Suso and it may be that Abate is also on the agenda.
As it looks increasingly like Dani Alves will stay at Barcelona after all, the clubs who were interested in the Brazilian international may instead flock to Abate.
While Abate has never explicitly demanded to leave Milan, he is likely to be open to a transfer given that the Rossoneri are in European exile and face an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League this season too.
Abate is renowned for his phenomenal speed and is widely regarded as one of the quickest players in Europe, but he also has a good eye for a pass and is cool under pressure.
So far this season he has four assists in six games in Serie A, a pass success percentage of 72.9 and an average mark out of 10 in press ratings of 7.16.
The biggest potential weakness for Abate in the Premier League would be his competence in aerial challenges where he is sometimes left wanting.
There may also be some competition for Abate with Milan's Italian rivals Juventus known to admire him and reports of other top clubs circling.
