Leeds United goalkeeper on his time at the club so far.
Leeds United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri has been speaking about the season so far at Leeds United and his feelings regarding the international break.
In an interview with the club’s official website, the Italian stopper said, “I think that we need to score more goals but that is not easy. I feel we should have won the game last Saturday.”
That match was the 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday that meant Darko Milanic is yet to oversee a victory despite being in charge for three games.
Leeds have seen their form dip somewhat following the outstanding surge up the table under caretaker boss Neil Redfearn, but Silvestri believes the international break has come at the perfect time for the players to get things right.
“Now we will use the international break to work very hard to make sure that we play well again,” the 23-year-old said. “I think it is important to keep training with the new coach.
“It’s a different type of training because he is not an English coach but all coaches are different. He has different methods for training and for the games.”
It should only be a matter of time before Milanic’s work on the training field starts paying off on the pitch, and having played 10 matches already this season, Silvestri is one Leeds player who is relishing his time at Elland Road.
“I am happy here because I feel good,” the ‘keeper said. “I feel good in the city and the fans are amazing.”
That can only be a good thing for Leeds supporters hoping their side starts climbing back up the Championship table as soon as possible.
