Former Sunderland defender is reportedly not enjoying life in Spain.
Released by Sunderland on deadline day, Modibo Diakite did not take long to find a new club.
Inside Spanish Football report: "The French defender signed a one-year contract with the club just over a month ago, but is already thinking about terminating it and searching for a new club."
They cite a breakdown in trust between Diakite and manager Victor Fernandez.
There is fair reason for that: Diakite has played only one game for Deportivo, a match in which they were hammered 8-2 by a Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Real Madrid.
Diakite feels he is being made a scapegoat for the manner of the defeat, having not appeared since.
A Paolo di Canio signing, he was never in favour under Gus Poyet, and was shipped out to Fiorentina on loan earlier this year.
For his sake, the defender needs a little stability in order to kick on, and whether his contract is torn up or not, it's likely he will be moving elsewhere from January.
