Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil’s season seems to get worse with each and every passing week.
The 25-year-old’s form has been largely disappointing so far this campaign, with the Gunners struggling for even a top-four place in the Premier League at the moment.
And now the former Real Madrid star has picked up a knee injury while on international duty with Germany.
It has been confirmed by the German football federation that Ozil did not participate in training on Wednesday morning.
The 2014 World Cup winner complained of a problem in his left knee and has been taken to Munich to undergo an MRI scan which will be overlooked by Dr. Muller-Wohlfahrt.
The extent of Ozil’s injury is not yet known so to suggest that he will not be able to play in Germany’s upcoming matches will be purely speculative at this moment in time.
The problem will surely come as a blow to Ozil, who has struggled to play well consistently for Arsenal so far this term.
