Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has been speaking ahead of France’s international friendly against Portugal on Saturday.
While Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly the man to watch for the Portuguese, the Gunners defender warned that focusing entirely on the Real Madrid winger would be foolish.
Among the other players France must watch out for, the Arsenal player highlighted Manchester United winger Nani as a potential danger.
The wide-man is currently on loan at Sporting Lisbon, where he has rediscovered his scoring form, netting three times in eight games since returning to his homeland.
“Portugal aren’t just only about Cristiano Ronaldo,” Koscielny said in an interview published by Yahoo Sports.
“They have other important players like Joao Moutinho and Nani. We have to be aware they have a strong collective team and not simply focus on Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Arsenal know Nani well as the Portuguese star had arguably his best game in a United shirt against the Gunners back in 2010. And it seems Koscielny will have his work cut out keeping both him and Ronaldo quiet this weekend.
