Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto has been on impressive form and with his contract situation with the Viola up in the air, he could be a shrewd purchase.
The Brazilian joined Fiorentina in January 2011 and over the last year has become steadily more important for the Tuscan side. He is currently just one start away from 50 appearances.
After an impressive start to the season that has seen four clean sheets in six games, Neto is set to receive a new contract from Fiorentina with much better terms, but he hasn't put pen to paper yet.
There may be time for a big club like Arsenal or Liverpool to make provisional contact and begin setting up a deal for January.
Neto's wage demands are unlikely to be troubling for a Premier League club, given the much smaller salaries paid in Serie A.
At the age of 25, Neto is likely to just keep getting better and better while Casillas, who is apparently a target for both Arsenal and Liverpool has already hit his peak and is on the downward slope.
