Watford have a new manager in charge: it’s former Chelsea midfielder Slavisa Jokanovic.
The 46-year-old has replaced Billy McKinlay, who was in charge of the Championship outfit for just eight days.
Former Scotland international McKinlay replaced Oscar Garcia, who had to step down from his position due to health reasons. The Spaniard himself had succeeded Beppe Sannino, who quit on August 31.
However, the 45-year-old was in charge of Watford for just two matches, with Jokanovic becoming the Hornets’ fourth manager in just 37 days.
Jokanovic will take charge of a Watford side who are doing quite well in the Championship so far this campaign despite the recent managerial problems.
Watford are currently third in the league table with 21 points from 11 matches, level on points with Norwich City and Nottingham Forest, who are first and second respectively due to better goal differences.
Following the announcement, Watford fans took to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the appointment of Jokanovic as the new manager. Below are the best reactions:
@watfordfcsays Is he on a rolling one week contract?— Paul Mathews (@Watford_Politic) October 7, 2014
“@watfordfcsays: Hornets confirm the appointment of Slaviša Jokanović as new Head Coach.” Whoa - blast from the past!— Matt Conroy (@TheVipersNest) October 7, 2014
@watfordfcsays You have not actually said anything about the last coach. Sort out your comms. It's become an embarrassment.— David Hart (@davidhart100) October 7, 2014
@watfordfcsays Do you know who's taking over from Jokanović next week yet?— Rachel Greenberg (@rachel_sg) October 7, 2014
@watfordfcsays this is an absolute shambles! We need stability of a coach who knows the league not an unknown who's never managed in the UK!— Stuart Neilson (@SNeilson81) October 7, 2014
@watfordfcsays any more shambles like this & fans won't be so supportive! Patience only lasts so long if those at the top keep making a mess— Stuart Neilson (@SNeilson81) October 7, 2014
