Ubisoft announce The Crew is delayed until December 2nd

The Crew

Sadly there’s an extra few weeks to wait until the launch of Ivory Tower’s upcoming open world racer

Ubisoft has revealed that The Crew will be delayed by about a month, pushing the game back from its planned released date on 11th November to 2nd December.

Speaking on the Ubisoft Blog the game’s creative director Julian Gerighty let on that more time was needed to allow the devs to act on feedback from The Crew’s recent closed beta tests. “We received a lot of valuable information from the recent PC and console betas,” Gerighty said. “We are now scrutinizing all of the player feedback so we can ensure that The Crew delivers the seamless open-world experience that meets everyone’s high expectations.”

Thanks to feedback from players, requested features have already been added to the game during the development process which include fine-tuning the collisions, tweaks to police AI, better voice chat support and the ability to turn off the heads up display.

Ubisoft’s post also notes that another closed beta is due during November to help Ivory Tower add a final polish to the game.

The Crew has already been set back this year from its originally slated April launch thanks to the knock-on effect caused by the delay to Watch Dogs. Following this the game managed to wow critics at this year’s E3, where The Crew was named the best racer at the show.

When The Crew finally releases on 2nd December it will be available for PC, Xbox One and PS4, a port for Xbox 360 is also due with Asobo Studios working separately on its development.
