Super Smash Bros. for Wii U arrives November along with Amiibo figures

Nintendo's Wii U receives Super Smash Bros. next month along with the first batch of Amiibo figurines.

Nintendo have today announced the release dates for the Wii U version of the latest Super Smash Bros. game. The game will launch in North America on 21st November, with Europe receiving it on 5th December.

The 21st November date confirms the leak from last month.

This news follows Nintendo also announcing that the Nintendo 3DS version of the game has sold 2.8 million copies worldwide. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS was released in Japan on 13th September, with the US and European releases on 3rd October, and 4th October in Australia.

From 5th December Super Smash Bros' for Wii U will also come in two bundles; Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and a Mario Amiibo; Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and a Gamecube controller adapter, for those purists amongst you.

As mentioned above, the Nintendo Amiibo figures are being released around the same time on 28th November. There will be 12 figures available initially; Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth.

On 19th December a second batch of Amiibo figurines, consisting of 6 new characters, will arrive; Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon.

The Amiibo figures function similarly to the Skylanders figures, but they'll be compatible with many upcoming Nintendo games.
