A video and pictures are circulating of Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman angrily making an obscene gesture at a Juventus fan.

The top-of-the-table clash between Roma and Juventus became fraught after controversy and ill-discipline on the field and Roma star Kevin Strootman showed his passion for the Giallorossi.

The Dutch international has been injured since March when he tore a cruciate ligament in his knee, but that didn't stop him making his feelings felt from the stands.

Manchester United have been repeatedly linked with Strootman, but the midfield talent has always stressed that he is happy where he is.

It would seem to be a betrayal of Roma who have nursed him back to fitness for Strootman to walk out and he still seems to be passionate about the Lupi.

As players clashed on the field, Strootman seemed to react to taunts from Juventus fans and made an 'umbrella gesture', the Italian equivalent of showing the middle finger.

While he may not have won any friends with the Juventus faithful, Roma fans are likely to hold Strootman in even higher regard now and there has been a wave of support from Giallorossi lovers on social media.
