Leeds United and Watford bosses played together for Partizan Belgade in 1991.

It has been a seasons full of managerial upheaval already in the Championship, as Leeds United and Watford fans know too well.

Watford appointed Sinisa Jokanovic on Tuesday, their fourth manager of the season so far.

The Slovenian will be looking forward in particular to a fixture in February - should he last that long - when Watford face Leeds United at Elland Road.

He will go head to head with Darko Milanic, who again provided he lasts the distance, will battle for the spoils as part of a friendship which goes back more than 20 years.

Both hailing from Slovenia, part of the old Yugoslavia, they played together in the same Partizan Belgrade team in 1991.

Each player went onto have successful careers beyond that, with Milanic captaining Slovenia at Euro 2000, and Jokanovic playing for Premier League side Chelsea.

Both are in the relatively early stages of their managerial careers, and coming through this season and into the next, is a challenge in itself.
