Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, Everton defenders train with England team

Roy Hodgson on air

Jamaal Lascelles and Luke Garbutt get chance to train with England team.

Two England under-21 defenders have been called into the senior side by Roy Hodgson for a training session.

Luke Garbutt of Everton and Nottingham Forest and Newcastle's Jamaal Lascelles were given the nod.

Neither have been drafted into the official squad, but have simply been included in training to help Hodgson's side out with numbers, and to gain valuable experience.

Both will the get the chance to test themselves against the likes of Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck in the Three Lions' attack.

Lascelles is highly rated but has barely featured in the Championship this year, replaced by Michael Mancienne and having to spend most of his time as a substitute.

Garbutt has only featured in the League Cup for Everton, and is behind Leighton Baines and Bryan Oviedo in the left-back queue at the club.
