Aston Villa midfielder Joe Cole has been singing the praises of his teammate Christian Benteke.
The Belgium international forward had been struggling with injuries at the start of the season, but he is now fully fit and ready for action.
The 23-year-old recently returned from a six-month injury layoff and came on as a substitute against Manchester City at Villa Park on Saturday.
Benteke’s comeback did not end on a positive note, though, as Manuel Pellegrini’s side scored two late goals to wrap up a 2-0 victory in the Premier League clash.
The former Genk star could start Villa’s next league match against Everton at Goodison Park on October 18, and Cole is looking forward to playing with him soon.
‘From afar I've watched Christian and admired him for the last two years in the Premier League', the former Chelsea star told Villa's official website. 'He's been superb and his performances have been of a real top standard.
'I know how highly he is thought of by the lads in the dressing room, the fans in the stands, the people of Belgium - and I'm really looking forward to playing with him in the Premier League.
'He's still young and has a bright, bright future ahead of him. I've played with some top, top forwards and I hope to do so with Christian soon too'.
Benteke does indeed have a bright future and has been quite impressive in the Premier League so far.
The striker enjoyed a great debut season for the Villans in 2012-13, but struggled last campaign. However, now that he is back to full fitness, Benteke will be determined to return to his best in the coming weeks.
