Hull City latest: Good news for one player and bad for another

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the KC Stadium…

Hull City player Ahmed Elmohamady has withdrawn from international duty with Egypt today.

The player was due to take part in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Botswana, but the BBC have since confirmed that the player has withdrawn with what Hull have called “back spasms”.

Egypt already had a tough task of qualifying for the finals of the competition as they are currently without a point in Group G; but without Elmohamady, that task just got a little bit tougher.

In other news, Sky Sports reports that Hull’s summer signing Brian Lenihan has been called into the Republic of Ireland squad for their Euro 2016 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Germany.

Lenihan is yet to feature for the Tigers' first-team since moving to the KC Stadium on transfer deadline day along with a whole host of new arrivals, but the 20-year-old will provide cover for the injured Seamus Coleman.
