Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been singing the praises of his teammate Jack Wilshere.
The 22-year-old England international has recovered fully from the injuries that have plagued him in recent years.
The youngster has long been regarded as a special player who could become the ‘next Paul Scholes', but so far he has yet to reach their lofty heights.
Szczesny, though, believes that his Arsenal teammate does have the potential to become a ‘complete’ player if he can score more goals.
‘He can go past players in midfield, which is a very important quality’, the Poland international told Arsenal’s official website. ‘We are all about passing the ball and moving it quickly, but sometimes if you can get past players in midfield it gives us a massive advantage - and Jack is very comfortable doing that.
‘That is one of his biggest qualities. If he can just add a few more goals to his game, then he will be pretty much a complete player for us’
Wilshere has indeed struggled for goals in his career, but then again he has not always been played in a position that would allow him to find the opposition’s net frequently.
However, the Englishman has scored once in the six Premier League appearances so far this campaign, while creating five chances for his teammates.
Perhaps this is the season when Wilshere starts scoring more goals and becomes the brilliant midfielder that Arsenal and England fans want him to be.
