Many expected Marouane Fellaini to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window following a truly disappointing 2013-14 campaign.
The Belgium international midfielder joined the Red Devils from Everton for a reported transfer fee of £27.5 million last summer, but he failed to make any major impact at Old Trafford.
Despite being widely reported to be one of the players to be shipped out, Fellaini remained part of manager Louis van Gaal's squad.
In fact, the 26-year-old even featured for United in the Premier League before suffering an injury towards the end of the transfer window.
Fellaini made his comeback from injury on Sunday, as he came on as a 79th-minute substitute against Everton at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
The former Everton star made a cameo appearance, but even then his stats are quite impressive as shown below:
|Position||Team||Total Pass||Accurate Pass||Touches||Dispossessed||Successful Final Third Passes||Appearances||Mins Played|
|Marouane Fellaini||MF||Man Utd||5||5||7||0||1||1||11|
A 100% pass accuracy even during a short 11-minute spell is noteworthy, and so is the number of touches taken (7).
Eventually it was United goalkeeper David de Gea who saved the day for the hosts with two late stops and helped them to a 2-1 win, but Fellaini did show that he can improve this season.
