Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has expressed his doubts over the ability of Adryan.
The Brazilian playmaker may still not have made his first appearance at Elland Road, but Gray has expressed his concerns over his ability.
In his homeland Adryan has been touted as the next Kake, due to his showings as a youngster, but Gray has questioned whether Flamengo would be willing to let a youngster with that much potential leave, even on a temporary basis.
"People were saying that Adryan was the new Kaka but if he was the new Kaka he wouldn’t be playing in the Championship would he? You’ve got to be honest about it," Gray wrote in the Yorkshire Evening Post.
"Nobody has seen the boy play and everyone is clambering for him to play but we’ll just need to see how he performs when he plays."
"He could be the new Kaka or the new so and so but Kaka wouldn’t be playing in the Championship at the age of 20."
"He’d be playing at higher level and you’ve got to be fair to the boy – the expectation level shouldn’t be too high just now."
"He’s a young player and when the opportunity is here well see how he performs."
Even if he isn't as good as Kaka, there is still high hopes for Adryan at the Yorkshire club and most supporters are hoping to see him in action sooner rather than later.
His arrival caused great excitement and his natural flair in possession could add another dimension to their attack in the future.
Leeds have lacked a spark so far under Darko Milanic and they will know that they need to increase their goalscoring threat as the season progresses.
Adryan should be fully bedded-in now, but he does have the international break to impress the new Slovenian boss and he will be hoping to be part of the first-team line-up when the Whites are next in action.
That comes in two weeks' time when they take on Rotherham United in what promises to be a feisty Yorkshire derby.
