West Ham fans react on Twitter to Alex Song's performance against QPR

Upton Park

West Ham United beat Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, with Alex Song solid in the midfield.

West Ham United made a number of additions to their squad this summer, but one that they did not have to pay for - at least not yet - is proving to be the best of the lot.

Diafra Sakho fans may disagree, and there is absolutely no doubt the Hammers striker has shone since his arrival at Upton Park, adding a constant and prolific goal-threat, but in Song, West Ham have a midfield enforcer who enables the more attack-minded players to do what they do best.

Against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, Song touched the ball 73 times and had a pass accuracy of 81.82 per cent.  He also won three tackles, nine duels and three interceptions, while making 15 forward passes.

Song is proving to be the bargain that some other Premier League clubs may wonder why they did not move for when they could, but West Ham took that chance, and how it is paying off.
