Tottenham Hotspur may have returned to winning ways only on Sunday, but Nacer Chadli is already looking forward to their next game.
The North London outfit ended a run of four Premier League games without victory when they got the better of Southampton 1-0 at White Hart Lane.
Christian Eriksen’s goal in the 40th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides and saw Spurs get back on track for a top-four finish in the league this season.
Next up for Mauricio Pochettino;s side is a clash against defending English champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium after the two-week international break.
It will not be easy for Spurs to pick up even a point against the Citizens, but Chadli, who provided the assist for Eriksen’s winner against the Saints on Sunday, is confident.
‘Everyone has to be ready,” the 25-year-old told Tottenham’s official website. ‘We know they are a strong side but we’ll be organised and show what we can do’.
Tottenham had started the 2014-15 campaign brilliantly, and some were even suggesting that they could challenge for the league title. However, Spurs started to stumble from late August and are now eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
Pochettino’s side, though, are very much back in the race for a top-four finish. Arsenal and Liverpool both are a point behind them, while Manchester United are ahead of them only on goal difference.
