Borussia Dortmund have suffered an unfortunate series of injuries, which rivals the bad luck Arsenal have had this season.
However, there seems to be a little light at the end of the tunnel for Jurgen Klopp with Bild suggesting the latter pair on that list are likely to return after the international break.
“The top stars could be available after their injuries again in two weeks in Cologne,” reports Bild.
“He (Reus) will promptly re-train fully with the team and will work intensively for several days on the ball with Klopp.”
“Ilkay (Gundogan) trains normally and will be an available squad member after the international break.”
Reus and Gundogan are two players who have been strongly linked with exits, with BVB facing the difficult and tricky prospect of contract renewals over the course of the next 12 months.
Those talks will only be made more difficult when the pair return from their injuries and look to hit top form.
Reus’ deal expires in 2017 and BVB are under pressure to start talks over a renewal to increase his buy-out clause which is valued at around £20 million.
Gundogan’s deal expires in 2016 after BVB showed him faith by extending his contract when he was injured last season.
In both cases United, or any other interested party, could test BVB’s resolve but for now the focus is on getting them both back into competitive action as quickly as possible.
