Manchester United latest: Christmas TV fixtures announced; Keane's fight with Schmeichel

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from Old Trafford…

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has revealed that he head-butted Peter Schmeichel when the two were teammates at Old Trafford.

The former Republic of Ireland international has written his autobiography, and in an extract published by the Manchester Evening News, Keane revealed that he and the Danish international brawled during a pre-season tour of Asia.

While Keane waited for the famous hairdryer treatment, he said it was up to Nicky Butt to remind him what had happened the previous night.

“Nicky Butt had been filling me in on the night before,” Keane wrote. “Butty had refereed the fight. Anyway, Peter had grabbed me, I’d head-butted him, we’d been fighting for ages.”

It is surely just one of many enlightening stories that readers of the United great's book can look forward to.

In other news, BT Sport have announced that they will televise two United matches over the festive period.

Those games will be against Newcastle United (at 3:00pm on Boxing Day) and Tottenham Hotspur (at 12:00pm on December 28).
