Leeds United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri reflects on his time in England so far.
Leeds United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri has positive words for the Championship and English football as a whole.
The 23-year-old joined the West Yorkshire outfit in the summer transfer window from Italian club Chievo and has been in impressive form in the Championship so far this season.
Silvestri is also very popular with the Leeds fans and his positive views of England will certainly endear him more to the club’s supporters.
‘I like English football, both the Championship and the Premier League’, Vital Football quotes the Italian as telling BBC Radio Leeds. ‘I think it is real football.
'It's my life's dream to play in England in front of lots of fans in a big stadium with a good pitch, it is a different world. Our fans are amazing. We are not just 11 on the pitch because we have the fans’.
The Championship is a very competitive league and Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in England.
For years, Leeds have struggled financially and results on the pitch have been disappointing as well.
However, under new owner Massimo Cellino, the former Premier League outfit have gained financially stability, and things can only improve on the pitch under manager Darko Milanic.
