Despite stating less than a week ago that he would happily sign a new contract at Inter, Argentine striker Mauro Icardi seems to be unsettled.
The 21-year-old has enormous potential but he hasn't always lived up to his billing at Inter, leading some to suggest that he may benefit from a move.
In the summer Icardi was linked to both Liverpool and Arsenal but he stayed put and has made a good start to the 2014-15 campaign.
Liverpool appeared to be put off by the £16 million price tag for a player who is yet to fully prove his worth.
However, Inter are going through a nightmare spell and back-to-back defeats against Cagliari and Fiorentina have already made a Scudetto bid look far-fetched and left coach Walter Mazzarri on the edge.
That could be a difficult task with Juventus clear out in front and Roma providing a spirit chase while AC Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina are all underachieving but still above Inter.
Should Icardi continue his scoring form this season but Inter miss out on the top three, he may well be on his way to an English side with Arsenal and Liverpool the most likely destinations, presuming that they qualify for the Champions League.
It may be that Icardi is even willing to leave in January, but that seems quite unlikely.
