Ex-Notts County boss: Nottingham Forest striker will be Premier League success

Britt Assombalonga tipped to become Premier League success story.

Current Barnet boss Martin Allen has backed Britt Assombalonga to be a success in the Premier League.

The former Notts County boss believes the striker will make it there, with or without Nottingham Forest.

He told The Mail:  "He has pace and excellent technical finishing skills and a hunger and appetite. He always plays on the shoulder of the last defender looking to get in behind them.

"I'm delighted he's gone on and done well, and I'm not surprised at his success so far this season.

"He will be banging Premier League goals in soon – and maybe for Forest."

Assombalonga had a terrific start for Forest after his £5.5 million switch from Peterborough, but has struggled for goals in recent games.

Allen went onto reveal he attempted to sign him as a teenager while he was manager of Gillingham.

Forest currently sit second in the Championship, and if Assombalonga can re-discover his early season form, they is a great bet to win promotion and fulfil Allen's expectations.
