Di Maria v Hazard: Key area Manchester United star out-played Chelsea ace

Manchester United and Chelsea stars' performances compared:

Manchester United record signing Angel di Maria and Chelsea's Eden Hazard both played important roles in victories for their teams this weekend.

Di Maria scored United's opener in a 2-1 home victory against Everton, setting up the winner, while Chelsea's Eden Hazard won a penalty and scored it, in the 2-0 win over Arsenal.

With the £92 million duo shining in the Premier League, we set their week seven performances against each other to see if there were any striking differences.

Ángel Di María Man Utd 1 6 1 5 4 0 88 90
Eden Hazard Chelsea 1 2 0 0 5 1 65 90

Both players featured for the full 90 in their respective wins, and it was Argentine winger Di Maria who was the more trigger happy of the two, lashing in six shots at goal.

Hazard only managed two, with one from the penalty spot. One of Di Maria's efforts turned into the decisive assist for Radamel Falcao to convert.

Di Maria was more involved in terms of touches, but did not manage a single tackle - while Hazard did.

There was one important area however where Hazard disappointed and Di Maria shone, and that is terms of chances created.

Di Maria made five key passes, while Hazard didn't carve out any goalscoring chances, an area he will be disappointed not to make an impact in.

This season overall Di Maria edges Hazard 16-15 in chances created, having played two games less, with three assists to Hazard's one.
