Manchester United defender Rafael gave an exceptional performance in the win over Everton.
Rafael gave a dogged performance at right full-back, and while he didn't cover himself in glory for the away side's goal, his efforts down the flank prevented Everton's advances for the most-part of the match.

He made several vital interceptions and clearances, and won four tackles, as he recovered possession for his side on 14 occasions. He also prevented a potential late Everton equaliser, blocking a strike in the 87th minute.
He was also superb going forward, and played an integral role in his side's opener, with his cross finding Juan Mata who played the final pass to Angel di Maria.
His attacking runs put the Merseysiders on the back foot throughout, as he completed one of three attempted dribbles and drew three fouls, while he played six crosses in total.
Proving comfortable in possession he accumulated 82 touches during 90 minutes - second to only Angel Di Maria - while he fashioned 43 passes, with a 79% accuracy rate.
With Rafael looking close to getting back to his best for United, he will certainly have given Louis van Gaal plenty to mull over.
Should the Brazilian continue this form over the next few months, his Dutch head coach may resist the temptation to sign a new right-back during the January window.
