Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech uses Manchester United star David de Gea to hit out at critics

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech comments on David de Gea’s sensational stoppage-time save for Manchester United against Everton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea made one of the best saves of the season anywhere in Europe on Sunday.

The Spain international kept out a stoppage-time effort from Everton star Bryan Oviedo to help the Red Devils to a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford in the Premier League encounter.

It was truly a world-class save that left many observers astounded, and Chelsea custodian Petr Cech has used it as an example to hit out at critics.

On Monday, the Czech Republic international posted the following picture and message on social networking site Twitter.

Most football observers would suggest that De Gea should have saved that effort from Oviedo with his left hand as he was diving to his left. But the former Atletico Madrid star did so with his right hand.

What Cech is aiming to prove to the critics is that one does not need to make a save with the leading hand. And he has a point, at least in the case of De Gea. After all, the Spaniard made the save and helped United to a 2-1 win.
