Arsenal fans react to Mesut Ozil’s performance v Chelsea in Premier League

Arsenal supporters take to social networking Twitter to have their say on Mesut Ozil’s performance against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been criticised for his largely underwhelming performances so far this season, and that continued on Sunday.

Once again deployed on the wing against Chelsea in the London derby at Stamford Bridge, the Germany international struggled to make a big impact.

Although Ozil had more final third passes and key passes than former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, the 25-year-old’s performance in the Premier League encounter has once again come under scrutiny.

There are suggestions that the 2014 World Cup winner simply does not exert himself enough on the match (click here to read more), while manager Arsene Wenger’s decision to play him out wide when he is more effective down the middle has also bewildered fans.

There was a mixed reaction from the Arsenal fans. While some suggested that Ozil should not be the only one to blame for the North London club’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea, others claimed that the former Real Madrid star needs to step up as there are no excuses.
