Jose Mourinho and Chelsea were arguably the winners of the summer transfer window and the club is reaping the rewards of such success.
Having acquired the services of Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, the Portuguese head coach has made an unbeaten start to the season. The Blues have won six of their seven opening fixtures, scoring an impressive 21 goals in the process.
This fantastic opening is largely due to the fantastic form of Costa and Fabregas, both of whom have hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge. The statistics behind the duo's early-season form are simply incredible.
Diego Costa has made a frightening start to the season. Already the former Atletico Madrid striker has nine goals in his locker, as he leads the race for the Golden Boot. Of 19 of his shots this term, 14 have been on target (72% shot accuracy).
He netted against Arsenal on Sunday, scoring with his one and only shot of the match. This strike took his season conversion rate to just over 40%; a highly respectable figure. Already the Spaniard has equalled the efforts of Mourinho's star forward of the previous season; Samuel Eto'o, who took 21 appearance to score nine goals.

The Spaniard has fashioned 22 key passes throughout his opening seven top flight appearance - only Stewart Downing can match this total, although the West Ham midfielder's efforts have resulted in fewer goals.
Costa and Fabregas have made an instant impact since their arrival, and incredibly, they have formed an unstoppable partnership in the spine of Mourinho's side. Thus far, the Spaniard has assisted four of Costa's league strikes, the most recent of which came against his former club Arsenal.
If the duo can maintain their current form, Chelsea will remain the best bet for this season's Premier League title.
