Liverpool 2-1 West Brom: Lallana and Henderson secure vital win

Liverpool beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday.

Liverpool secured a much-needed win at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon.

Adam Lallana put Brendan Rodgers' side ahead on the stroke of half-time to ease the nerves around Anfield. But when Saido Berahino scored from the penalty spot 11 minutes after the re-start, the home fans would have been forgiven for thinking their club's struggles were going to continue for another week.

However new Liverpool vice-captain Jordan Henderson had other ideas, and the England international scored what proved to be the winner shortly after the hour-mark.

The result ended West Brom's recent resurgence and put Liverpool back on track after some disappointing results both domestically and in Europe.

The Reds moved up to sixth following the win, while the Baggies slipped to 13th.
