Arsenal stars Lukas Podolski and Laurent Koscielny are in positive spirits ahead Sunday’s clash with Chelsea.

Arsenal go onto their clash against table-topping Chelsea in confident mood following the 4-1 Champions League victory over Galatasary in midweek.

The Gunners have never beaten a Chelsea side managed by Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, but that hasn’t stopped them believing they can pull off a stunning victory at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Posting on his official Facebook account, German international Lukas Podolski is ready for the London derby and has called upon the Gunners support to back their side in numbers.

He said: “Rainy day in London, good session this morning! Ready for Derby, going to be a big match! Wanna see London RED tomorrow!!”

Podolski, 29. Is likely to start the game from the bench as Arsene Wenger will look to use Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil and summer signing Alexis Sanchez as his main attacking threat.

The North Londoners’ last visit to Stamford Bridge ended in a nightmare 6-0 mauling and boss Arsene Wenger knows they will have to be disciplined at the back.

The Blues have scored for fun so far this season, with Spanish international striker Diego Costa netting an impressive eight Premier League goals in just six appearances.

The man expected to be tasked with stopping the former Atletico Madrid scorer will be French international Laurent Koscielny, and the defender also took to Facebook to post a positive pre-match message, saying:

“Sunday October 5th at 3.05 pm (french time) Chelsea-Arsenal, difficult game but why not a victory.”

And why not a victory? After all, if the Gunners want to become genuine title challengers these are the sort of games where they need to stamp their authority and prove the doubters wrong.
