Hugo Lloris has challenged Tottenham Hotspur to build on the point that they got from their match against Arsenal last weekend.
Spurs picked up a 1-1 draw with the North London rivals last Saturday, in what was a good display, and Lloris wants to see a repeat of that level of performance when they take on Southampton.
“It’s a big game, really important for us to confirm the point we got at the Emirates,” he said to the club's official site.
“We have to be focused. We know the importance of this game after the West Brom defeat. That was a bad feeling. The principle thing is to make a good performance and as for the result, we will see what we deserve.”
Spurs went the whole of September without winning, but they will be looking to re-find their best after building momentum with the draw in the North-London derby.
Mauricio Pochettino's side have looked out of form during the campaign so far, but they have quality in their side and will be looking to improve quickly.
Southampton, though, will be a tough test and they travel to White Hart Lane full of confidence. The Saints went into this weekend in second position in the embryonic Premier League table and they will be keen to get one over on their former boss Pochettino tomorrow.
Their form has caught the eye of Lloris, too, and the French goalkeeper is under no illusions as to how hard it will be for Tottenham to grab the three points.
“We are in the Premier League and every team has a lot of skill,” he said. “We have to be focused on our performance, concentrate individually and collectively and if we do our job, I’m sure we will be okay.”
