Spurs morning news: Player reveals why Pochettino is perfect for Tottenham

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur take on Southampton on Sunday, knowing they have to start getting more wins on the board as soon as possible.

But Spurs striker Harry Kane has complete faith in his manager Mauricio Pochettino to inspire them to a bright future.

In an interview with the Express, the young forward said, “The Gaffer is a top bloke. He’ll have a bit of banter and he’ll be strict when necessary.

“But he’s a great person to be around and he brings big morale to the team. So we’re confident in our ability.

“He'll work as a group and he’ll work individually with players. You want your manager to be helping you out as much as possible and he’s been doing that.”

Kane has enjoyed a relatively good start to this season and it will be interesting to see if he can have an impact when Pochettino comes up against his former club this weekend.

Speaking of which, Saints boss Ronald Koeman believes Tottenham’s summer target Morgan Schneiderlin is happy he did not move to White Hart Lane or anywhere else for that matter.

In comments published by the Daily Mail, Koeman said, “It was very important Schneiderlin stayed. I think the player is very happy to stay.”

The way Southampton have started the new season, that would be no surprise.
