Rangers needed a positive result this afternoon after their recent setback at home against Hibernian. The club were reeling slightly after a draw against Alloa Athletic and a subsequent 3-1 reverse against the Edinburgh outfit - but today they bounced back in good fashion against Livingston at the Energy Assets Arena.
But it was not an easy affair as Livingston pushed them all the way in a very close encounter.
However the goal that decided the game came in the eighth minute, and it was a goal befitting any game anywhere in the world.
Ian Black earned the assist as Lewis Macleod flew into the air to score a spectacular overhead kick. It was his second goal of the season and was truly a world class finish.
But it was not a surprise for Rangers fans. He has demonstrated his penchant for the bicycle effort in the past, an impressive strike against Ayr springs to mind immediately.
But it still impressed the Rangers faithful once again, who had this to say about the goal on Twitter...
