Finally, a win for Liverpool!

And, finally, a defeat for West Brom. Indeed, a resolute Baggies side came to Anfield having won three consecutive matches in all competitions. They gave a very good account of themselves.

Until Adam Lallana opened the scoring, Alan Irvine's men had the hosts on edge. Quick counter-attacks and disciplined defending left many Reds fans wondering just how they would break the Baggies down.

But then Lallana struck - and former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier was all smiles as the home side went into the break 1-0 up.

A moment of madness hit in the second half, however, as Javier Manquillo produced a terrible pass, handing possession straight to the visitors. Before the Reds' defence could react, Saido Berahino received the ball on the edge of the area and was brought down by Dejan Lovren.

The foul occurred outside the penalty box but referee Michael Oliver gave a penalty - and Berahino tucked it home.

But did Liverpool panic? Not by any stretch, as Raheem Sterling almost won a spot-kick of his own before getting back up and passing the ball to Jordan Henderson. The England midfielder did the rest, slotting the ball into the far corner to seal Liverpool's victory.
