While nobody could argue that Aston Villa have not had a bad start to the season it is clear something is missing at the club. That something is a big striker who scores goals for fun, someone like Christian Benteke.
He has been out of action since March after rupturing his Achilles tendon. The striker, who has scored 34 goals in 67 games for the club, has been sorely missed by the club in his six months out of action. He also missed the World Cup with the ailment - a personal heartache for the striker.
But he has been back in training for a couple of weeks now and Villa fans have been getting steadily excited about his potential return to action.
And now it has happened. Benteke was brought into play during the second half of the game against Manchester City at Villa Park.
After Gabriel Agbonlahor pulled out of the team during the warm-up it was vital that Benteke got back into action for Villa as soon as possible.
It was a moment that brought a smile to every Villa fans face, although those smiles were soon wiped off by Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero in a 2-0 win for the Premier League champions.
However Villa fans will be excited to see Benteke in action in the near future.
