Leeds United fans react on Twitter to Adryan's absence - "How can Milanic prefer Murphy?!"

Leeds United drew 1-1 with Sheffield Wednesday today, but Whites fans were bemused at the absence of Brazilian playmaker Adryan.

Leeds United started the Darko Milanic era with a 2-0 defeat at Brentford last weekend before his first game in charge at Elland Road ended in a 0-0 draw with Reading, and the Slovenian was in front of the home crowd again this afternoon as they faced Sheffield Wednesday in a Yorkshire derby.

After a goalless first half, Leeds fans could have been forgiven for wondering when they would finally score their first goal under their new manager, and their mood won't have been improved after Chris Maguire gave Stuart Gray's Wednesday side the lead early in the second half.

But Leeds did get their first goal under Milanic as Giuseppe Bellusci turned home Alex Mowatt's free kick after Wednesday struggled to clear the ball, and with only ten minutes remaining, there were no more goals as Leeds picked up their second point under Milanic.

Yet fans were still confused over one thing; the absence of Brazilian playmaker Adryan. The 20-year-old joined the club on loan from Flamengo this summer, and whilst he had starred for Brazil Under-17's and Under-20's, Adryan has yet to even feature for the club.

With a big reputation in South America for his technical ability, Leeds fans have been desperate to see their new No. 9 in action - and despite speculation that he would make his debut today, he was left kicking his heels on the bench once again, with Milanic preferring to bring on Luke Murphy and Steve Morison instead, though he did confirm that he considered bringing Adryan on.

Leeds fans on Twitter were perplexed as to why Adryan remains on the sidelines, with some even comparing him to former Leeds flop Filipe Da Costa. There's even a growing opinion that if Leeds have no intention of using Adryan, then they should send him back to Brazil and enable him to continue his career elsewhere.

Here are a selection of tweets from Leeds fans on Adryan's absence against Sheffield Wednesday.
