Recent reports have claimed that Manchester City are interested in bringing Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos to the Etihad Stadium
The Spanish international is equally adept at centre-back or at right-back and he would add considerable quality to City's side. But two questions instantly arose.
The first was: Do City need him? and the second was: Would Real sell?
But whatever you think regarding both queries - and personally I think he would be a great addition rather than a necessary one but Real would be crazy to sell - Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has had his say, and it is not good news for those City fans hoping the rumours are true.
Balague took to Twitter on Saturday to write the following: "For those that are asking: Not true at all that City have approached Sergio Ramos."
Of course that does not mean that the move could not happen in time, but when you consider Ramos has a contract at Real until the summer of 2017, and that he has already made 11 appearances for them this season, it seems highly unlikely.
