Daniel Sturridge: Liverpool teammate Mamadou Sakho is ‘very dressy’

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge comments on the dress sense of his teammate Mamadou Sakho.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is well known for his taste in fashion, but even he seems to be in awe of his teammate Mamadou Sakho.

Speaking to Esquire, the England international revealed how Sakho is the smartest dressed Liverpool player at training.

‘I think the stereotype about footballers being badly dressed is unfair’, said the 25-year-old. ‘Hendo [Jordan Henderson] dresses quite well.

'[Mamadou] Sakho is very dressy, he’ll show up to training in a smart shirt and shoes, though I think that’s a Parisian thing. Brad Jones has a go, loves a blazer, Brad Jones...’

At least there is some positive story about Sakho, who does not seem to be the ‘rebel’ that he appeared to be last month when he stormed off after being left out of the matchday squad.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers left the France international defender out of the team to take on Everton in the Merseyside derby at Anfield last month.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star was angry with the decision and left the stadium. However, Sakho later apologised, and everything has now been forgiven and forgotten.
