Chelsea prospect sent off in miserable 6-1 defeat for loan club

Stipe Perica did not have a day to remember for NAC Breda this week.

Much has been made this year of the amount of players Chelsea currently have out on loan. The club currently have 26 players, young and old, out on temporary spells from Chile to Crete.

Of course many of them head to Holland to play with sister club Vitesse Arnhem. However one loanee in Holland is not at the Gelredome. Instead the player in question, Stipe Perica, is at NAC Breda.

The Croatian starlet joined Chelsea from Zadar in 2013 and was immediately loaned out to NAC for a season loan last term.

He scored six goals in 26 appearances for the club last campaign and they decided to keep him on for another term in 2014-15.

Last week he bagged a brace against Ajax although he was not on the winning side, as Ajax thrashed NAC 5-2.

That took his record for this campaign to three in five, he is certainly in good form.

But yesterday he was unfortunately the villain, as NAC were thrashed once again.

They were already 2-0 down to Heracles Almelo when Perica received a red card in the 29th minute. And it really was a silly red. He kicked out after a foul and was sent off, a naive action which was disciplined correctly by referee Ed Janssen.

And from there NAC did not stand a chance. Heracles went on to put four more goals beyond them in a 6-1 pasting.

From hero to zero in just one week, welcome to the world of professional football.
