Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli has enjoyed a fine start to the new campaign, scoring four goals already with a brace against Queens Park Rangers followed up with strikes against Sunderland and Arsenal.
Having taken some time to settle following his move to White Hart Lane last summer, the Belgian international is now showing what he can do on a consistent basis, but how does his start to the campaign compare with former Spurs star Gareth Bale's over in Spain?
The Real Madrid player enjoyed an outstanding debut season but has he been able to match that given the presence of a number of new faces at the Bernabeu?
Taking into consideration the two player's league form to date, both Chadli and Bale have scored four goals, with the Welshman also having an assist to his name. But when you consider the price Real paid for Bale he is not currently performing at a significantly higher level than Chadli. In fact, their recent form is almost identical.
|Goals||Goal Assist||Key passes per game||Shots per game||Passing Accuracy||Dribbles per game||Appearances||Mins Played|
Both players average one key pass per league game, while Bale just edges Chadli in terms of shots per match...but only by point-three per cent.
The Tottenham man has the better passing accuracy - 85 per cent compared to the Real star's 80.1 per cent - while Chadli also outdoes the Welshman when it comes to dribbles.
When you consider Chadli has made one less league appearance and has played for considerably less time than Bale, the Spurs man comes out on top.
The question is: Can he now maintain this form for the long haul?
