Carragher: Arsenal's Welbeck still needs to prove his composure in front of goal

Liverpool legend says Arsenal striker has it all to prove still.

A hat-trick against Galatasaray and suddenly Danny Welbeck is being compared to Thierry Henry, showing how the world of football can change in an instant.

Yet he has not yet answered questions regarding his composure in front of goal, believes Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The former defender turned pundit argues there is a big difference between the time and space afforded him by Galatasaray's poor defence, and the stern test he will face against Chelsea this weekend.

He told The Mail: "He will be at Terry and Cahill from the start. What he needs to show now, though, is that he has composure in front of goal. Wednesday night was a positive step.

"His finishing was impressive but holding your nerve when Terry and Cahill are trying to hunt you down is different.

"Another big performance, though, and Welbeck will be moving in the right direction."

Welbeck never scored against Chelsea for Manchester United in the Premier League, in three appearances he made against them.

He did however score an impressive goal past them while on loan at Sunderland, at Stamford Bridge in a shock away win. Arsenal would certainly settle for the same this weekend.
