Bolton favourite with inspirational Tweet after Freedman departs

Stuart Holden has called on Bolton fans to 'rally around' the players in tough times.

Bolton Wanderers are on the hunt for a new manager after Dougie Freedman stood down earlier this week.

The Scot had struggled to get to grips with his role at the club since leaving Crystal Palace and with The Trotters sitting bottom of the Championship table he mutually agreed with the Bolton board that they would be better off with someone else at the helm.

Bolton have struggled to put together a cohesive assault on promotion since they were relegated from the Premier League despite, on paper, having a squad with the tools to do so.

One of the talented members of that squad is American international Stuart Holden.

Unfortunately the creative midfielder has had a miserable time with injuries in recent years. He has not played since April 2013, which was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, and has only managed nine games in the past three seasons.

But he is recovering well from his latest setback, and is now urging the Bolton fans to get behind the team as one force ahead of an obviously difficult period ahead for the club with this Tweet:
