Tottenham Hotspur loanee starred in Hamburg victory.
Lewis Holtby played a starring role as Hamburg pulled off a major upset away to Borussia Dortmund.
Hamburg won 1-0, thanks to a first goal of the season for Pierre-Michel Lassogga.
Hamburg had gone into the game bottom of the Bundesliga, without a win so far this season.
Holtby impressed, playing all 90 minutes in an attacking midfield role, with recently injured captain Rafael van der Vaart an unused substitute.
The Spurs loanee created three goalscoring opportunities, despite completing only 50 per cent of his passes in the face of Dortmund's pressing defence,
Holtby got stuck in from a defensive perspective himself, winning four tackles, and two interceptions, as well as making five clearances.
It has been a slow start at Hamburg for the midfielder, but now he will hope his time at the club is finally on the up, even if the club remain in the relegation zone after the win.
The major question is how his role could change upon Van der Vaart's reintroduction into the side; the two players have not played together yet.
Tottenham fans would happily vouch however, that if Hamburg's new coach Jan Slomka can get both firing, their prospects will look much better than their league position, and more wins will surely be around the corner.
